Internship Project:

Title: High-Dimensional Constrained Design of Experiments for ML Applications

The project explores Design of Experiments (DoE) for Machine Learning (ML) surrogate models used in multidisciplinary analysis and optimization. The aim is to refine and enhance existing DoE methodologies, addressing issues such as bias and sample size inefficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Familiarize with and create tests/documentation for DoE libraries like OpenTurns and JohnDoE.
2. Update existing DoEs for practical application:
   • Shift to an official Fuel vector implementation.
   • Add complexity by introducing additional dimensions such as Fuel Density.
   • Split existing dimensions (e.g., Fuel Weight into Re-Fuel Weight and De-Fuel Weight).
3. Merge multiple DoEs into a single comprehensive design framework.
4. Extend DoEs with additional dimensions to enhance practical applicability.

Qualifications

• Education:

  • M.Sc. / M.Eng. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or Aerospace Engineering
• Required Skills:
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Solid foundation in Statistics.
  • Experience with Data Wrangling and Preprocessing.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies for data generation.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
  • Knowledge of the ML & Deep Learning Model Development Cycle.
