Do you enjoy explaining complex technology in simple terms?
Do you have a knack for storytelling, a love for clarity, and a passion for making software more accessible?
If so, the Technical Writer Internship at Salesforce is perfect for you.
As a Technical Writer Intern, you’ll work closely with developers, product managers, QA engineers, and UX designers to craft documentation that helps users navigate Salesforce’s powerful AI-driven applications.
You’ll write user interface text, developer guides, Trailhead tutorials, and other learning resources that make Salesforce easy and enjoyable to use.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Create and update clear, concise, and engaging documentation for Salesforce products and features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and product management.
- Develop user assistance content such as UI text, help topics, tutorials, videos, and infographics.
- Participate in usability reviews to ensure documentation complements the user experience.
- Learn and apply Agile methodologies to documentation planning and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to Salesforce’s editorial standards, tone, and brand voice.
- Use innovative authoring tools and documentation software to deliver content efficiently.
📚 Experience & Skills Required
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for clarity and detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with structured writing styles and documentation processes.
- Basic knowledge of XML or HTML.
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
- Collaborative attitude and ability to work well in diverse, global teams.
- Customer-first mindset and advocacy for usability and accessibility.
💡 Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with authoring and publishing tools such as MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, or Markdown editors.
- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting (JavaScript, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with Agile and version control systems like Git.
- Experience with image or video editing tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Camtasia, or Premiere Pro.
🎓 Educational Qualification
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Technical Communication
- Creative Writing or Journalism
- Computer Science or Information Technology
- Engineering, Science, or any related technical discipline
This role is open to students graduating as part of the Class of 2027.
