Your Role and Responsibilities

• As an Associate Data Scientist at IBM, you will:
• Solve business problems using open-source and IBM tools (Python, R, TensorFlow, AI application suites).
• Prepare, analyze, and interpret data to deliver insights, predict trends, and recommend solutions.
• Implement, validate, and maintain predictive/prescriptive models, incorporating machine learning and big data techniques.
• Write efficient, reusable data cleansing and integration programs.
• Collaborate in Agile teams with scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators.
• Communicate complex results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop and iterate Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate AI solutions.
• Support rapid code refactoring/rewrite documentation (e.g., COBOL to Java).
• Document solution architectures, designs, and lessons learned.
• Create white papers, best-practice guides, and technical documentation.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
• Master’s Degree (preferred)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• POC development and validation of AI solutions.
• Collaboration with teams to implement and refine POCs aligned to customer needs.
• Experience with code assistant tools to refactor/rewrite COBOL to Java.
• Strong documentation skills (solution architecture, design, technical guides).

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Proficiency in Python and experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Hugging Face.
• Familiarity with SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, and cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of COBOL & Java (preferred).
• Experience with Python and PySpark (advantage).
